VineMAP provides detailed terrestrial and climatic information in relation to the suitability of land in England for viticulture. However, the information generated and purchased through VineMAP should not be relied on as the sole determinant of viticulture suitability. Where serious consideration is given to establishing a vineyard further expertise should be sought from Vinescapes or others regarding critical considerations such as: site and soil amelioration requirements; variety, clone and rootstock combinations; planting density; management structures; investment requirements and business modelling; climate change impacts; and weather risk management. Our consultancy service, including customer site visits, is available for further support and guidance in these areas.
Whilst every care is taken to ensure the information provided through VineMAP is reliable at the time of supply Vinescapes cannot be held liable for inaccuracies resulting from a change in terrestrial variables or variances within a potential vineyard site. In addition, it must be noted that the climate data supplied through VineMAP is high-resolution modelled (re-analysis) and gridded data that provides indicative area conditions and may not fully represent in-field growing conditions.
