Bringing Vine Health to Life: Vinescapes joins Royal Society of Biology expert talk

At Vinescapes we’re passionate about supporting healthy, resilient vineyards—and so we’re pleased to be contributing to an upcoming webinar as part of the Royal Society of Biology Plant Health Series.

Taking place on Wednesday 6 May (15:00–16:00 BST), this free online session will explore vine health, grape disease detection, and sustainable vineyard management—topics that are increasingly important for the long-term success of UK viticulture.

Our own Rob Poyser will be joining keynote speaker Dr Katie Gold of Cornell University. Rob will share practical, on-the-ground insights from managing vineyards across the UK, including approaches to maintaining vine health in variable conditions and responding to disease pressures in a sustainable way.

Alongside this, Dr Gold will give an insight into pioneering research from Cornell’s Grape Sensing, Pathology, and Extension Lab, GrapeSPEC showcasing how new technologies are advancing disease detection and monitoring. The session will connect cutting-edge science with real-world application—something we see as essential for the future of vineyard management.

The webinar will conclude with a live Q&A, offering a great opportunity to put questions directly to both speakers.

The session is free to attend, with advance registration required, and is approved for 3 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points.

Registration closes at 23:59 on 5 May.
