New grant funding available to fight frost risk in UK vineyards

Following the release of new grant funding UK vineyards can now request financial support for equipment to help prevent frost damage.

With early season frost being a major issue in the English wine industry this is great news for producers. The grant offering from the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) includes Selected Inverted Sink (SIS) frost fans as part of its core equipment list and is open to vineyards & farmers in the UK.

Although there are many forms of frost protection on the market the SIS fans provide unique protection and work well in areas where cold air accumulates. They extract cold air vertically drawing cold air into the bottom thrusting it upwards (80m) allowing warmer air to lower, preventing frost damage to emerging buds and shoots.

This technology is used across the globe and many vineyards in England have already moved to this automated, relatively quiet and environmentally friendly technology.

If you would like more information on SIS fans please contact info@vinescapes.com or visit our website www.vinescapes.com. Technical specification can be found here: www.exfrostprotection.com
