Smarter Frost Forecasting
Vinescapes has been working with key partners to develop a sophisticated technological solution for real-time, in-field frost forecasting to reduce the pressure on vineyard managers and viticulturists at springtime, when frost can be detrimental to new vineyard growth.
Using carefully placed vineyard sensors and a readily accessible website application, VineBuddy will protect vines from potential damage by giving users advanced warning to put protection measures in place.
Devleoped with the expertise of WeatherQuest, VineWatch, Plumpton College and WineGB, the work we have been engaged in is funded and supported by the UK Agri-Tech Centre.
We will introduce progress on the project at The Vineyard and Winery Show 2025, and launch the system officially in February 2026.
