Vinescapes routinely use ultra high resolution (1 x 1 m) satellite or airborne derived terrain data to map and model potential vineyard sites. Using state-of-the-art geographic information software, topography, aspect, slope angle and hill-shade models of prospective vineyard sites can be developed to identify optimum areas for planting and risks such as cold air accumulation pockets.
